Chennai, July 28 TVS Motor Company Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 7.02 crore on sales of Rs 911.06 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2008 against a net profit of Rs 7.55 crore on sales of Rs 783.33 crore for the same period last year.

The company sold 171,700 motorcycles (152,100) and 65,500 scooters (70,200) during the quarter.

With new launches in the two- and three-wheeler segments, the company forecasts a more positive growth in the second quarter, according to a TVS Motor press release.
