Consolidated Construction bags civil works deals

Chennai, July 31 The Chennai-based Consolidated Construction Consortium Ltd has bagged civil work orders from two of the leading industrial investments proposed near the city.

According to a press release from the company, it has bagged the civil work orders for the Renault-Nissan Automobile plant and the global automotive centre for the National Automotive Testing and R&D Infrastructure (NATRIP) valued at over Rs 240 crore. Both projects are at Oragadam, an industrial belt to the west of Chennai.

For Renault-Nissan, Consolidated Construction will set up the stamping, paint shop, body shop, trim and chassis, power train buildings, process foundations and security.

The contract, which also includes design and build basis, construction of train, data and maintenance buildings, is valued at Rs 140 crore.

Renault-Nissan joint venture involves an investment of over Rs 4,500 crore to produce over 400,000 vehicles a year.

The NATRIP is valued at over Rs 100 crore, the release said.

The release quoting CCCL’s Chairman and CEO, Mr R. Sarabeswar, said that the company, an integrated service provider in industrial, commercial, residential and infrastructure segments, is consolidating its presence in the automobile plant construction. Its total order backlog is Rs 3,180 crore to be executed over the next 18 months.
