Spencer's deal for Wipro Info

Bangalore, Aug. 4

Wipro Infotech, the India and Middle East IT Business of Wipro Ltd, said Monday it has won a large IT outsourcing contract from Spencer's Retail Ltd. The size of the deal was not specified. Spencer's has selected Wipro for infrastructure management services for five years, Wipro said in a statement. It would be responsible for providing IT infrastructure support for all the stores, distribution centers, regional and zonal offices for Spencer's. Wipro said it would use its global service management centre in Mysore to provide this service. This would benefit Spencer's with cost efficiencies, enhancing IT system availability and streamlining IT delivery process, Wipro added. Spencer's Retail Ltd, a part of the RPG Enterprises, is a multi-format, food-first retailer. - Our Bureau
