New Delhi, Aug. 6 UTV Global Broadcasting Ltd (UGBL), the broadcasting arm of UTV Software Communications Ltd, is taking two of its channels to Sri Lanka.

The company has tied up with Sri Lanka’s DTH operator Dialog TV to offer World Movies and UTV Movies, to audiences in Sri Lanka.

Come September, UTV promises to bring Jodha Akbar, Race, Jannat, Che, The Counterfeiters and the Lives of Others to movie watchers in Sri Lanka.

“Sri Lanka is a very key market for media consumption in South Asia and with Dialog TV as our partner we are confident of reaching out our content to the right audiences. Our two offerings — UTV Movies and World Movies — have been chosen keeping the audience sensibility in minds which are similar to the audience back home,” said Mr Shantonu Aditya, Executive Director, UGBL.

Dialog TV recently entered into a distribution partnership with NDTV for its lifestyle channel NDTV Good Times. The company’s English news channel is already available on the platform.
