Mumbai, Aug 12 Larsen and Toubro-led consortium has bagged orders totalling Rs 3,816 crore from customers in the metal industry. L&T in association with Outotec, GmbH of Germany, and Paul Wurth bagged orders totalling Rs 2,545 crore from Tata Steel for a 6 million tpa (tonnes per annum) pellet plant and a blast furnace at Jamshedpur. L&T’s share in the order is valued at Rs 1,578 crore. The L&T-Paul Wurth consortium was also awarded a repeat order from Tata Steel for a 2.5 million tpa blast furnace. The order is scheduled for commissioning in 30 months. The L&T-Outotec consortium also secured a Rs 753-crore order for a 360 sq.m sinter plant for the SAIL-RSP expansion programme of 3.7 million tpa. L&T share of the order is Rs 588 crore. The order is to be executed in 30 months, an L&T release said. In addition L&T got a repeat order valued at Rs 518 crore from Hindustan Zinc for a 2.1 lakh tpa leaching, purification and zinc electrolysis plant. This order is scheduled for completion in 17 months, the release added.
