Return of P-Notes

This refers to “P notes back on SEBI agenda” (Business Line, August 12). Last time, certain tightening norms on Participatory Notes brought disappointment and uncertainty to the market. But the regulator should not dilute the stipulations under any pretext.

At the same time, any hurdles in the way of investment accretions should be removed. But, again, this should never be at the cost of the market health or the investors’ interests.
