Suven Life’s API gets nod in Europe

Hyderabad, Aug. 18

Suven Life Sciences Ltd has been granted the first Certificate of Suitability (CEP) by the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines for its Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API), Tamsulosin Hydrochloride. The CEP would mean that the API of the Hyderabad-based company is suitable for use in medicinal products. It is recognised by the 36 member States of the European Union besides Australia, Canada and Switzerland.

CEP is used to certify the compliance of a material with the requirements laid down in the relevant monograph of the European Pharmacopoeia, according to a release. —
