Infotech begins operations in Japan

Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Aug. 21 Engineering and geographical information systems provider Infotech Enterprises today announced the launch of its operations in Tokyo.

It has inducted two senior professionals to help grow the Japanese market and sees this centre serving as a regional hub.

While the initial focus will be on engineering services, it plans to conduct market research and thereafter offer other services.

The Chairman and Managing Director of Infotech, Mr B.V.R. Mohan Reddy, in a statement said the engineering design centre is being set up in Japan to serve companies. This is after a detailed market research.

“We believe there is exciting opportunity and have hired key local talent,” he said.

Infotech has over $100 million in revenues from the engineering design services and sees Japan providing more opportunities. Quoting Nasscom-BoozAllen Hamilton Study, Infotech said Japan is the second largest in terms of engineering design spend globally and had 21 per cent market share in this space globally.

Mr Kazuya Fujinaga, who was formerly with IBM Japan, and Mr Masamichi Migita, who was formerly with Dassault Systems Japan, have joined Infotech to assume senior roles and to spearhead the Japanese foray.
