Tata Metaliks gets mining licence

Kolkata, Aug 25

Pig iron manufacturer Tata Metaliks has obtained a prospecting licence for iron ore mining in Maharashtra, according to Mr Harsh K. Jha, Managing Director, Tata Metaliks Ltd. The company will commence prospecting work within the next three months, Mr Jha told newspersons on the sidelines of a seminar on steel industry organised by Confederation of Indian Industry here on Monday. The iron ore procured from the mine could be used for its proposed steel unit in Karnataka. The company has also obtained sanction for 700 acres of land for setting up a steel plant in Karnataka. Tata Metaliks scrip closed higher by 4.34 per cent at Rs 139.40 on the BSE on Monday.
