HPCL computer literacy project

Visakhapatnam, Aug. 25

Hindusthan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) is taking up a programme to impart computer literacy to schoolchildren in seven schools here as a part of its corporate social responsibility, according to Mr Viziasaradhi, the Director, HRD. He told reporters here on Monday that HPCL had allocated Rs 7 crore during the current financial year for CSR and was taking up nine schemes. “One of the schemes, Unnati, is being implemented here in association with NIIT to impart computer training to schoolchildren in seven schools. We are spending Rs 35 lakh for the programme, which will cover 3,000 students. It will begin from September and last for four months,” he said. Mr Sriram, the General Manager (IT), HPCL, and Mr N.P. Kishore, the NIIT franchisee, also spoke. –
