Announcements Our Bureau Coimbatore, Aug 28 Dishman Pharmaceuticals & Chemicals Ltd has completed the acquisition of 390 acres for its pharmaceutical and chemical SEZ near Bavla. Land acquisition for engineering SEZ is nearing completion and company will apply for notification of both the SEZs in next 15 to 30 days. The company expects to begin work on the SEZs by last quarter of the calendar year 2008. Expected investment by company in both the SEZs will be approximately Rs 500 crore. Gemini Communication Ltd has fixed September 24 as the record date for the purpose of sub division of equity shares from Rs 5 to Re 1. GSS America Infotech Ltd has convened a meeting of the Board of Directors on September 2 to consider issue of shares / warrants to promoters and other identified persons and raising of funds through Foreign Currency Convertible Bonds (FCCB) / Global Depository Receipts (GDR) / American Depository Receipts (ADR) / Qualified Institutional Placement routes. Page Industries Ltd has expanded the capacity of Garter from 37,80,000 metres to 63,00,000 metres and in August has commenced the second phase of factoryconstruction at Bommasandra. Sintex Industries Ltd has informed that a fire broke out in the plastic division at Kalol (N.G.) on August 28.The exact cause of fire could not be identified and extent of damage is yet to be ascertained. However, there is no major impact on the other production department and working of the company.
