Anjana Chandramouly

Bangalore, Aug. 29 Radhakrishna Hospitality Services, food services, facilities management and vending solutions company, is working closely with the Indian Railways to add more trains to its portfolio and also put up food courts and plazas at railway stations. It currently provides on-board food service to trains such as Kanyakumari Express, Mumbai Jaipur Superfast Express, Awadh Express and Karnavati Express through its brand — Rail Rasoi, Swadh Khana Mast Safar.

The company, which expects the travel sector to contribute 10-15 per cent of its revenues going forward, is also exploring the country’s roadways. According to Mr Sunil Nayak, CEO, Radhakrishna Hospitality Services, there is a tremendous opportunity in putting up food courts and restaurants at petrol stations. The company also has food outlets at 40-plus hospitals and 25 schools.

The company currently has about 1,000 clients, serves 2.75 lakh meals, manages 22 million sq ft space and vends 2.25 lakh cups a day. It operates in 22 States across the country, employing more than 19,000 people with an annual turnover of Rs 400 crore. Mr Nayak said that the company would be a Rs 500-crore company by December 2008, and hopes “to become a Rs 1,000-crore company by 2010-2011”. The company, which has also put up food courts in IT premises across the country, plans to focus on the South market actively, and “especially Bangalore,” he added.
