Singapore to host vegoil seminar

Our Bureau

Mumbai, Sept. 5 Extraordinary changes in the global vegetable oil market over the last several months and in particular last few weeks, have unnerved even industry leaders. Market participants relying on bullish prognosis have lost heavily as the prices are on a free-fall.

What strategy should producers and consumers adopt to stay afloat in these troubled times? What is the outlook for world vegetable oil sector going forward? These and other questions will be debated in the forthcoming 2008 World Oilseeds and Oils Convention to be held in Singapore during September 9-11.

To discuss prospects

Organised by Ground-Breakers Sdn Bhd, the event will bring together from around the world industry leaders from producing and consuming countries, large trading houses, researchers and opinion makers to debate the immediate future of the sector.

A panel discussion on managing price risks in the oilseeds and oils industry will be the highlight of the seminar, according to the organisers. Details can be accessed at www.wooc.com.my/2008
