ITPO, Codissia sign pact to organise trade fairs

Our Bureau

Coimbatore, Sept. 9 India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) has for the first time signed up with Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (Codissia), an industry association, to build the strength of both these organisations, ITPO Executive Director, Mr Rajiv Yadav, said.

Mr Yadav was in the city to ink a three-year pact with Codissia, to jointly organise exhibition-cum-trade fairs at the Codissia Trade Fair Complex here.

The revenue accruing from these fairs are to be shared by Codissia and ITPO.

The Codissia President, Mr K. Ilango, said the association hoped to organise at least three events at periodical intervals within the period of the MoU. The proposed trade fairs include energy and environment, healthcare and handicrafts and tourism.

Though nothing has been firmed up yet, Mr Ilango indicated that Codissia has lined up a couple of events for the next year. “It takes four to six months to organise a fair of such magnitude,” he added.

ITPO, according to Mr Yadav, would provide the publicity and marketing support, both at the national and international level and Codissia, the organisational support.
