Education Logistics - Human Resources States - Andhra Pradesh New batch joins AP aviation school K.V. Kurmanath Hyderabad, Sept. 9 A new batch of 11 students joined the AP Aviation Academy on Tuesday, a day after the school’s two-seater trainer Cessna 152 crashed, resulting in the death of an instructor and a trainee. The Chief Executive Officer of the academy, Capt. S.N. Reddy, said the students were looking forward to the course. “They are all positive. I also asked them whether their parents were not apprehensive (due to the crash). They replied in the negative,” he told Business Line, when asked how the mood was on the campus after the crash. The academy trains nearly 350 students (50 each in groundside and flying courses and the remaining on the engineering side). The 75-year-old academy is expected to resume training sessions in a day or two. “The engineers and other staff are busy with the investigation and shifting of the wreckage. Once they are through with that, we will start training,” he said. InvestigationThe Director-General of Civil Aviation has deputed a team to investigate the crash. The team studied the trajectory of the two-seater aircraft before it fell in a no-man’s land, damaging two houses. “DGCA officials have come from Delhi and Chennai and have begun the inquiry. They would study the issues that led to the crash and submit a report to the headquarters,” Mr R.K. Singla, Airport Director (Andhra Pradesh), said.
