M&M to unveil MUV on Ingenio platform

Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Sept. 23 Mahindra & Mahindra, the utility vehicle major is poised to ‘shortly’ unveil its latest offering, a global multi utility vehicle (MUV) based on Ingenio platform.

An M&M official did not provide much details as to the exact launch date.

M&M has created a new facility near Pune for the Ingenio platform, its design and development. The new MUV is being built on a new platform just like Scorpio, the company developed in India working on it for nearly four years.

The company is gradually rolling out its Scorpio automatic transmission range across the country.

The Senior Vice-President Sales and Customer Care, M&M, Mr Arun Malhotra, said that the Scorpio automatic transmission is targeted at young city drivers and also attracts women vehicle buyers with its ease and convenience.

Prior to the Nano project, Scorpio was the most ambitious project of any Indian automotive company, he told newspersons.

Featuring a six-speed gear box, the new Scorpio automatic transmission will appeal to people who drive in start-stop city traffic conditions. This will in effect help free up one hand due to automatic transmission, he said.

The two models are priced at Rs 10.33 lakh and Rs 10.88 lakh ex-showroom, respectively.
