Coimbatore, Sept. 25 The Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) segment provides a “huge, growing potential” to Oracle India Pvt Ltd, which has developed applications software aimed at this segment that could be used in areas like Enterprise Resource Planning , Customer Relationship Management, Supply Chain Management ) and Human Capital Management

Around 4,500 clients are mid-market companies in Oracle’s customer base of over 7,000.

Though Oracle India does not want to reveal the business potential of this segment, out of its total 7000 customers, its mid-market clientele is around 4,500.

Mr Vinod Subramanian, Regional Manager-Application Sales, OracleDirect, Oracle India Pvt, said there was a huge growth potential in this space. Asked whether he found the Indian SMEs more open to the idea of using the software vended by companies such as Oracle, he said his company has worked with about 40 partners in mid-market segment to sell its products and no other segment was growing as fast. .

On whether in the Asia-Pacific region the growth of the Indian market for Oracle products was higher when compared with other countries, Mr Subramanian said the “growing economies are India and China.”

An enormous amount of momentum was seen in mid-market segment in India and validation and usage of application software were pointers to that.
