Railways States - Tamil Nadu ‘Madurai needs metro rail’ Our Correspondent Madurai, Sept. 26 The Sattur Chamber of Commerce and Industry has made a strong plea for the introduction of a metro rail project for Madurai. In a letter addressed to the Union Railway Minister Mr Laloo Prasad Yadav, the Chamber Secretary, Mr P.T.K.A. Balasubramanian, has said the traffic in the industrial and trade centre for all goods has increased many times and the city buses are overcrowded from different destinations. With no other alternative travel facility, there often is congestion in traffic. Even though the project cost might appear high and it could take long time to complete, considering the future development, the project is a must and must be taken up on a war footing.
