Spot rubber unchanged in quiet market

Our Correspondent

Kottayam, Sept. 27 The domestic rubber prices ruled steady on Saturday. The market mood was quiet and neutral as there were no quantity buyers or sellers in the main marketing centres to set a definite trend. Sheet rubber RSS 4 closed unchanged at Rs 125 a kg as on Friday. The volumes were low.

External influence

“We expect the market to take a direction possibly on Monday when the global markets are back after the weekend holidays’ an observer said. It might be difficult to generate buying interest in the domestic scene without any external influence as the market is moving towards lower levels prior to the peak production season.”

The spot rates a kg were: RSS-4: Rs 125 (125); RSS-5: Rs 123 (123); Ungraded: Rs 120 (120); ISNR 20: Rs 120.50 (120.50) and Latex 60 per cent: Rs 77 (77).
