The day-long seminar aims to promote investment opportunities for the Indian technical textile in specific areas such as Agrotech, Meditech, Buildtech, Protech and Mobiltech, to create awareness about the value of technical textiles and to understand the demand. Agrotech encompasses the woven, knitted and non-woven textiles used in agriculture, fishing and fish farming, while Meditech is on the use of textile materials for medical and healthcare products ranging from gauze or bandage material to scaffolds for tissue culturing; Mobiltech product is about the use of textile material in automobile, ship building, aerospace, rail vehicles, motorcycles, airbags, tyres and Protech is about protective clothing. Asian countries such as China and India are expected to be drivers for future growth. While the potential looks huge, it has been restricted to low technology and less sophisticated manufacturing in India. More Stories on : Textiles | Events | Investments
