Kumarakom water supply scheme

Thiruvananthapuram, Sept. 28

The Vembanad Chamber of Hotels and Resorts, an association of hotels in Kumarakom, is supporting the establishment of a water supply scheme in the region.

According to a press release from the organisation, it has donated Rs 11.5 lakh to acquire land in Pallichira village for the water supply scheme. This money has been provided to the local panchayat, which will acquire the land.

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development will fund the laying of a pipeline and construction of a water tank as part of the scheme. Work on the project is expected to be completed in 20 months, the release added.
