Realty portal unveils localised data for 11 cities

Our Bureau

Bangalore, Sept. 30 Online real estate portal Makaan.com has unveiled city-specific homepages for 11 top real estate hotspots, which account for almost 87 per cent of real estate demand in India. The cities are Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Pune, Jaipur and Kochi. By targeting these cities, the portal aims to make online property search more localised and simplified for property seekers.

According to Mr Aditya Verma, Business Head, Makaan.com, the product releases are aimed at giving a superior user experience to property seekers.

Localisation benefits

The localised homepages have been designed to benefit all three stakeholders — property seekers, builders and real estate agents, the release said. Property seekers can access real estate information specific to the city of their interest. For example, property-seekers in Bangalore can directly log on to www.makaan.com/bangalore. They can connect to prominent builders and real estate agents, view the city’s leading realty projects, and also search for locality-specific properties.

While ‘Featured Builders’ is a special section for builders, where each city’s leading builders can showcase their profiles and projects, ‘Featured Brokers’ caters to the real estate agents.

Makaan.com is promoted by People Interactive, the consumer Internet division of the Anupam Mittal-led People Group. The site recently launched ‘Makaan Mobile’ — an SMS-based mobile application for property sellers.
