Chennai, Sept. 30 While mulling strategy, there are three things to ponder: It has to be applied based on one’s strength and weaknesses; opportunities and threats have to be identified; and focus on strategic resources and core competency.

In his keynote address at Man Meet 2008, conducted by Vael’s Institute of Business Administration (VIBA) at the Vels University here, Dr T.V. Subramanian, Chairman, Board of Studies, Bharatidasan Institute of Management, Tiruchi, also said Indian youth should contribute to India’s development rather than other countries.

In her inaugural address, Ms Sangeetha Prasad, Chief Operations Officer, Mahindra World City Developers, Chennai, emphasised the importance of a person’s innate skills rather than experience. Dr Ishari K. Ganesh, Chancellor of the University, released VIBA’s newsletter. Around 300 participants from 20 B-schools across South India were present.

A panel discussion on ‘Capital Market & Oil Crisis - Impact on Indian Economy’ was chaired by Mr K.Vasudevan, General Manager, RBI Academic Staff College, Chennai. The panel members included Mr S. Narayana Prabhu, Assistant General Manager, Karvy Comtrade; Mr S. Vasudevan, Chief Finance Officer and Company Secretary, Rudradev Township (P) Ltd; Ms Lokeshwarri S.
