Rly production units meet target

New Delhi, Sept. 30

Most of the rolling stock production units of Indian Railways have either met or surpassed their targets for the April-August 2008 period. Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) met its target by manufacturing 66 electric locomotives. Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW) surpassed its production target by rolling out 102 diesel locomotives against the target of 100 diesel locomotives during April-August 2008, according to an official release. Rail Coach Factory (RCF) produced 680 c oaches against the target of 656 coaches. The release further added: Rail Wheel Factory (RWF) produced 79,068 wheels and 34,882 axles (against a target of 76,344 wheels and 29,296 axles). The only exception was Integral Coach Factory (ICF) produced 455 coaches, marginally missing its target of 461.
