Pune, Sept. 30 Amanora Park Town — the first township project in the State under the Government of Maharashtra’s special township policy being set up by City Corporation Ltd — will house a first-of-its-kind Sports and Education Centre.

The centre would offer education from pre-primary to postgraduate programmes in management, architecture and hospitality. City Corporation is investing about Rs 250 crore for this sports centre and has already allotted 30 acres for the purpose, an official release has said.

It noted that the inauguration of Pawar Public School — Amanora School I, an ICSE pattern school run by the Pawar Public Charitable Trust, will mark the beginning of this project.

The Chief Minister, Mr Vilasrao Deshmukh, will inaugurate the school on October 3. The school is already operational up to Class 6 with over 360 students.

Spread across 1.2 lakh sqft, it can accommodate 2,000 students in a single shift.

Next on cards is an international school, Spring Field International School – Amanora School II, a joint initiative of City Corporation Ltd and the Mumbai-based JBCN Group. The school will start functioning from June 2010.
