17% growth in PNB biz

Kochi, Oct. 2

Punjab National Bank, Kerala Circle, has registered 16.85 per cent growth in its total business, touching Rs 3,273 crore as compared to Rs 2,807 crore last year. Mr Krishnan Ramiah, Head of Kerala Circle, said in a statement that the deposits of the Circle at the end of September this year amounted to Rs 1,861 crore as compared to Rs 1,506 crore in September last year, registering a growth of 23.57 per cent. He said that despite the current economic slowdown, the rate of growth will be sustained and improved. The credit deposit ratio of Kerala Circle works out at 76 per cent for the half year ended September and education loans amounting to Rs 2,135 lakh were sanctioned to 764 students during in last three months. - Our Bureau
