Events States - Maharashtra Tattv ’08 annual meet gets under way Our Bureau Pune, Oct. 6 Tattv ’08, the annual summit of the Symbiosis Institute of Operations Management (SIOM), Nashik, got off to a start at the Gateway Hotel with a presentation by Mr Sanjay Phadke, Vice-President, Structured Debt Capital Markets, J P Morgan Chase, Titled “Catch 22 - No time to think about the future, No alternative but to do so!” the presentation highlighted the importance of strategic foresight. The issue of forecasting the future was expressed with the help of the “Black Swan” concept, a condition that hinders the growth of business by allowing cognitive biases to creep in. The other key speakers at the first session were Mr Sachin Kulkarni Vice-President, Financial Services, Capgemini, US, and Mr Balaji Lenka, Director, Distributor Sales and Customer Care, Schneider Electric India. The speakers for the second session were Mr G.R. Gangadhar, Director, Forbes Marshall, Ms Nadia Chauhan, Director, Parle Agro Ltd, Mr V.K. Raman, Head, BPO services, Tata Consultancy Services and Mr M.C. Thacker, Vice-President, Strategic Planning and Initiatives, Larsen and Toubro Ltd. The session moderator was Mr G. Chandrashekhar, Associate Editor, The Hindu Business Line. The institute has been hosting the annual summit for the last two years.
