Outlook Marketing - Strategy Tolins to launch LCV tyres Our Bureau Kochi, Oct. 9 Kerala-based Tolins Tyres Pvt Ltd, manufacturer of re-treading material, is set to introduce LCV tyres. The Rs 150-crore company will initially launch light truck nylon tyres and will later introduce truck tyres in the market, Mr K.P. Varkey and Mr K.V. Tolin, Chairman and Managing Director, respectively, of the company said at a press meet. The official launch of the tyres will be held here on Saturday. The company has invested Rs 200 crore on the manufacturing facility set up on 40 acres at Kalady near Kochi. The turnover is expected to reach Rs 300 crore on achievement of full capacity of production. It will produce 15,000 tyres a month, including tractor tyres, and there are plans to scale up to 30,000 tyres a month shortly, they said. Mr Tolin pointed out that the tyres were tested on the roads in the Middle East and the field performance was good. With this confidence, the company is entering the Indian market, he said, adding that an excellent track record in the manufacturing and marketing of tyre accessories as well as a well-knit dealer network has motivated them to launch tyres in the market. The group has entrenched itself as a major tyre re-treading solution provider across India, the US, Europe, the Middle East, East Africa, Jordan, Israel, Kenya, Syria and Egypt, he said. The company produces 1,500 tonnes of finished retreads a month. About 30 per cent of the production is exported every month.
