Asianet launches Telugu channel

Hyderabad, Oct. 9

Asianet Television Network, which runs five channels in Malayalam and Kannada, has launched a 24-hour entertainment channel — Asianet Sitara — in Telugu on Thursday. Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, Mr Vijay Babu, Chief Operating Officer, said the company would also launch a 24-hour news channel in Telugu in two months. “We are looking at opening a channel in Tamil at a later stage,” he said.
