New Delhi, Oct. 10 The overall growth in power generation for September has been estimated at 4.2 per cent compared with 4.3 per cent in the corresponding period last year, an official statement said on Friday.

“In September, the overall growth in electricity generation in the country has been 4.2 per cent,” it said.

The growth slackened due to inadequate rainfall in areas where hydro power stations are based, it added.
