Mumbai, Nov. 13 The Kalpataru Group plans to establish 40 warehousing and agriculture logistics parks across the country in the next three years.

The company intends to provide end-to-end logistic solutions at each of the agri parks. The first of such parks on a 20,266 sq metre site at Unjha, Gujarat, was operationalised last week. The dry warehousing facility is equipped to handle 15,000 tonnes.

In the first phase, Shree Shubham Logistics Ltd, a group subsidiary executing the project, plans to build 11 such parks by March at a cost of Rs 140 crore.

“We will meet 32 per cent of the project cost and Union Bank has agreed to fund the balance,” said Mr Aditya Bafna, Director, Shree Shubham Logistics.

Park location

Four such parks will be set up at Gujarat and seven in locations such as Kota, Alwar and Jodhpur in Rajasthan. In the second phase, 14 parks will be in States such as Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh and plans are on to cover Andhra Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab in the third phase.

The logistic parks will offer office space, processing facilities, auction platforms, testing and certification and dormitories to support the community of service providers.

The pre-engineered buildings at the centres will have extended platforms for offloading, special insulation to reduce heat transfer, proper ventilation, water-hydrant systems for fire fighting, besides the testing and certification laboratories.

Each warehouse will have deep service yards in addition to a network of 15-metre wide roads and parking facilities to ensure free vehicle flow.

Revenue flow

The company revenues would come from services extended to storage, processing, commodity funding, testing and certification. This apart, Shubham Logistics would also benefit as a commodities procurer for large requirements.

Shubham Logistics plans to provide end-to-end logistics solutions to all commodity stakeholders in the agricultural and non-agricultural segment.

The company is into warehousing activities (both dry storage and cold storage) to all classes of commodity players in Jodhpur. It has also entered into a tie-up with the National Collateral Management Services Ltd, a collateral management company promoted by the National Commodities and Derivatives Exchange Ltd and other institutions.
