Chennai, Nov. 24 Cricket fans, particularly fans of Chennai Super Kings, will now have a chance to interact closely with their idols, purchase tickets on a priority basis and at a discount — conditions apply.

All it takes is a membership in Kings Club, an official club membership programme launched by Chennai Super Kings, the Chennai franchise of the BCCI-IPL cricket team operated by India Cements Ltd.

The Chennai Super Kings is one of the eight franchises offered under the IPL (Indian Premier League) promoted by the BCCI, the national governing body for cricket in India.

Launching the programme, Mr K. Srikkanth, the team’s brand ambassador and Chairman, BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) selector committee, said that the club would take the Chennai Super Kings closer to its fans in India and abroad. A membership would offer the benefits of priority access to tickets and discounts for IPL home matches, invitations to practice sessions, discounts on team merchandise and photo opportunities with the cricket players.

The programme would also be taken on to the Internet with an e-store for online sales. A membership in the programme comes at Rs 500 a year for the school going and Rs 1,000 for others.

Mr T.S. Raghupathy, Executive President, India Cements, said that the franchise has evoked the interest of not just the cricket fans but also that of investors.
