Forex Rupee down marginally
Mumbai, Nov. 24 The rupee depreciated marginally against the dollar on Monday, losing 6 paise against the greenback. Compared with the past few days, there was not much movement in the rupee. It moved in the narrow range of 25 paise, said a dealer with a private sector bank. The domestic currency opened at 50.03 and weakened to touch an intra-day low of 50.22. It then recovered to fall below 50 at 49.97 before closing at 50.09/10, as against the previous close of 50.03/05. There were fres h dollar supplies coming into the country, which helped the rupee recoup its losses, the dealer said. In the global markets, the dollar weakened against the euro and the pound. In the forward market, the 6-month premium closed slightly higher at 2.82 per cent (2.61) and the 12-month ended at 1.96 per cent (1.79). — Our Bureau More Stories on : Forex
