M. Somasekhar Hyderabad, April 29 In less than 10 days after Tech Mahindra successfully bought into Satyam Computer Services, the latter has seen a minor shake-up at the top. The changes have been necessitated following the quitting of Mr Virender Agarwal, head of Satyam’s Asia-Pacific region, West Asia, Africa and India business, located out of Singapore recently. Mr Agarwal is the second from the top 10 leadership executives to leave the embattled IT major since January 7. Mr Agarwal was driving operations out of Singapore, which has a large employee presence of Satyam and projects for the City State Government. Mr Subu D. Subramanian, Head of the Manufacturing and Automotive business Group based in Chennai, had quit during the middle of February. Another notable exit has been Mr Anil Chintapalli (Finance), based in the US in February. According to sources in Satyam, Mr T.R. Anand, who now heads the TIMES (Telecom, Infrastructure, Media, Entertainment and Semiconductor) group and is based in Bangalore, will take over a major share of Mr Agarwal’s responsibilities. He would be in charge of the Asia Pacific region and India business. Mr Anand has been with the company for over a decade and is among the top leadership team.
Mr Sriram Papani, who heads the Enterprise Application Group out of Hyderabad, has been entrusted the Middle East and Africa region. The responsibility, essentially revolves around Satyam’s major client Oracle and oracle applications. Incidentally, Tech Manindra, the new owner of Satyam, is focused on the telecom business, and the TIMES business vertical is a provider of IT solutions to the telecom clients as well.
