Anti-dumping Web Extras - Consumer Electronics Dumping duty imposed on CD-R imports K.R. Srivats New Delhi, June 6 The Finance Ministry has imposed definitive anti-dumping duty on all imports of Compact Discs-Recordable (CD-Rs) from Iran, Malaysia, South Korea, Thailand, United Arab Emirate and Vietnam. A definitive anti-dumping duty usually lasts for five years, unless revoked earlier. The anti-dumping duty ranges from $17.52 for a 1,000 pieces to $63.84 for a 1,000 pieces for various producers/exporters from these countries. The Designated Authority in the Commerce Miniusry had in March this year recommended definitive anti-dumping duty on CD-R imports from these six countries. The definitive anti-dumping duty would be applicable from March 13, 2008, the date of imposition of provisional anti-dumping duty. Accordingly, CD-Rs from Thailand, including those from Panstar Electronics Co Ltd, would attract an anti-dumping duty of $17.52 for 1,000 pieces. In the case of Vietnam, the anti-dumping duty, including those CD-Rs from Ritek Vietnam Co Ltd, has been pegged at $46.94 for 1,000 pieces. For CD-R imports from South Korea, the definitive anti-dumping duty is $53.38 for 1,000 pieces. In the case of CD-R imports from Iran, the anti-dumping duty has been pegged at $51.92 for 1,000 pieces.
While the definitive anti-dumping duty in the case of CD-R imports from Malaysia was $45.11 for 1,000 pieces, the anti-dumping duty in the case of United Arab Emirates (UAE) was $63.64 for 1,000 pieces. More Stories on : Anti-dumping | Consumer Electronics
