Derivatives Markets Columns - On the hedge Our Bureau Chennai, July 1 Turnover remained moderate at Rs 55,613.06 crore in the F&O segment on the NSE on Wednesday. The Nifty July future ended in discount at 4338.95 against the spot close of 4340.9. It added about 15.37 lakh shares in open interest. Among the options Nifty 4500 call and 4000 put were the most active. It was modest accumulation in the option segment, suggesting traders preferred to stay on sidelines. While 4000 call added 2.11 lakh shares in open interest, 4500 call accumulated 1.32 lakh shares. Stock futuresDay’s belonged Idea Cellular. The counter added 46.89 lakh shares in open interest; the Idea Cellular future jumped 4.6 per cent to close at 74.65 against the spot close of 74.2. Realty space – Suzlon, Unitech, DLF and HDIL continued to attract market interest, as both price and open interest surged. Tata Steel July future which added 3.98 lakh shares in open interest closed in sharp discount at Rs 379.75 against the spot close of Rs 395.95. Bajaj Hindusthan shed about 3.14 lakh shares and also closed in discount at 201.35 against the spot close of 207.15.
