Computer Usage Columns - Tip Off Doing away with daemons
I have installed some applications on my computer which initiate some daemons in the system start-up. I don't want them to run in the background every time I start Windows. I don't find these processes in my start-up folder. Is there any way to remove them from system start-up? - Manik Singhal In Windows 98, you can remove the start-up programs by using the msconfig utility. Please go to start menu {gt} run and type msconfig and press enter. In the dialog box that appears, please select the `Startup' tab. You will have a list of programs there which run at the startup. Just uncheck the ones you don't want to start and click ok. This utility is not available in Win2000 or XP, but you can download it from the following URL: download/msconfig.zip
