Last week, National Geographic released a new docu-drama called Mars, directed by Hollywood veteran Ron Howard. While the show is about a fictional Mars mission (by a spaceship called the Daedalus) in 2033, it also features in-depth interviews with some of the finest minds in the space exploration world: fact and fiction combine to give viewers an ultra-realistic, compelling experience of what it is like to venture into unexplored realms

A new hope Olivier Martinez as Ed Grann, CEO of the Mars Mission Corporation, addresses members of the mission . Grann holds an engineering degree from MIT, and is responsible for keeping the mission’s economic and scientific goals on track
