Corporate Century Refineries commissions new plant BANGALORE: Bangalore-based Century Refineries Private Limited on Wednesday commissioned its new plant with enhanced capacity for recycling of used and waste oils. Unveiling the firm's new plant here, the Chairman of Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) Dr Sharatchandra lauded the company for making a mark in the state in dealing with hazardous waste material and recycling of used/waste oils, thus not on ly helping in cleaning the environment but also “saving, though in a small way, precious fossil fuels.” The firm's Managing Director Mr S K Bharadwaj said the company was started 11 years ago with a view to bringing into re-use, vast quantities of used and waste oils which were being thrown away and might be causing environment pollution. The plant is now equipped with the latest “wiped film evaporator” which can handle wide range of industrial used/waste oils, he said, adding with an in-house incinerator, recycling would be with zero discharge. - PTI
