Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohren to increase capacity

MUMBAI: Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohren on Monday said it is increasing its steel plate making capacity to 2 million tonnes per year from 1.5 million tonnes at present.

"The capacity expansion is on and we want to reach to 2 million tonnes by 2009," Mr Vipul Mathur, VP (Plate and Coil Division) Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohren said here today.

The company is increasing its slab making capacity to 2 million tonnes. The company might think of getting into iron ore and steel making later on for which no time frame has been set. - PTI
