Descon, Jaintec tie up to develop design engineers

KOLKATA: IT company Descon Ltd on Tuesday tied up with Jaintec to mark the launch of Jaintec-Descon training solutions to develop project-ready design engineers.

An MoU to this effect was signed between Descon Managing Director S Radhakrishnan and the Jaintec CEO Ashish Kumar here.

Speaking about the venture, Mr Radhakrishnan said at a time when the industry was suffering due to a demand- supply gap for qualified manpower, the most pronounced deficiency among fresh engineering graduates was engineering design skills.

He said that the crisis is more pronounced in the eastern region, where a huge demand exists for civil and mechanical engineers.

"In a bid to address this supply chain imbalance, both companies have decided to leverage on each other's core competence, thus ensuring a steady outflow of project ready design engineers to serve the interest of the industry as well as society,'' Mr Rad hakrishnan said.

Jaintec CEO Ashish Kumar said that students at the Jaintec-Descon training solutions would be trained in CAD/CAM/CAE software.

"All the courses were designed by industry leaders and updated from time to time to keep them relevant. Emphasis was on skills needed in the workplace both in India and in the US,'' he added. - PTI
