Suzlon appoints Robin Banerjee as CFO

MUMBAI: Suzlon Energy, the world's fifth largest wind turbine-maker, on Friday said it has appointed Mr Robin Banerjee as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). His appointment is with immediate effect, a company release said here.

Mr Banerjee comes to the Pune-headquartered firm with a rich international experience across a diverse range of businesses. He has held senior leadership positions with responsibilities across global strategy, M&A, finance and treasury, amongst others, a cross various industries such as FMCG, steel, auto components and travel, the release said.

Suzlon Energy's Chief Operating Officer, Mr Sumant Sinha said, “Mr Robin Banerjee's broad financial experience and extensive expertise will not only bring tremendous value to the company but will also drive our prime focus on building value for our share holders.''

The office of the CFO was previously shared between Mr Kirti Vagadia, Head-Corporate Finance, and Mr Sinha.

The finance responsibilities for the company will now be with Mr Banerjee, who will report to Mr Sinha, the release said. Mr Vagadia will take over Group-level finance responsibilities, it added. - PTI
