Universal Cables enters into a JV with Japanese co

MUMBAI: Power cable manufacturer Universal Cables said on Monday it has entered into an agreement with Japan-based The Furukawa Electric for manufacture of optical fibre in India.

It has signed a joint venture agreement with The Furukawa Electric, on April 11, for the incorporation, establishment and operation of a joint venture company in India in technical and financial collaboration for the manufacturing of optical fibre and al lied businesses, Universal Cables said in a filing to the BSE.

Shares of Universal Cables were trading at Rs 41, up 2.76 per cent on the BSE. - PTI
