Corporate Ajay Dua on Dabur board as independent director NEW DELHI: FMCG major Dabur on Tuesday announced the appointment of Mr Ajay Dua, a former secretary in the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP), as an independent director on its board. The company said in a statement that with this appointment the number of independent directors in its board has risen to six. “Corporate governance and transparency in action are of high priority for Dabur...The induction of Mr Dua as an independent director supports our efforts towards improving transparency in operations,” the Dabur India Group Director, Mr P.D. Narang, said.
Mr Dua was given senior assignments in the Government of Maharashtra and the Government of India, including as Managing Director of industrial promotion corporations and Joint Secretary in the Union Ministry of Power. He was also the Secretary in the DIPP between July 2005 and July 2007. He is currently a senior business advisor/board member of several multinational corporations, the company said. — PTI
