NEW DELHI: German luxury car maker Audi on Wednesday launched a limited edition of its sedan A6 priced at Rs 37 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).

The 2.7 litre diesel car has been launched as part of the company’s centenary year celebrations and will be available at the company’s dealerships across the country from January 1, 2010, Audi India said in a statement.

“The Audi A6 is the most successful business sedan worldwide and one of the main contributors to our achievements in the Indian market,” Audi India Managing Director Mr Benoit Tiers said.

The new 2,698 cc car is powered by a V6 engine and fitted with turbo diesel injection (TDI) technology.

“India has been a significant growth driver for Audi worldwide and this special offer is our way of thanking our valued customers in India who have made this possible,” Mr Tiers said.

At present, Audi sells seven models in India including the sports utility vehicles Q7 and Q5, volume model A6, super luxury sedan A8, entry level luxury sedan A4, sports coupe TT and the super sports car Audi R8.

During the January-November period this year, Audi has sold a total of 1,550 units in the country. In the year 2008, the company sold around 1,050 units in India. Audi India has currently 12 dealerships across the country. - PTI
