G4S to hire over 50,000 people in 3 yrs

NEW DELHI: Global security solutions provider Group 4 Securicor (G4S) will hire more than 50,000 people over the next three years and is in the process of rolling out new services for the retail and transportation sectors.

“G4S currently employs 1.3 lakh people in India and has been registering a growth of 15-20 per cent for the last several years. Going forward, it will hire more than 50,000 persons in the next three years,” G4S Regional Marketing Director Ms Rehana Qures hi said.

She said the growth of security services in India is very robust as new townships, industrial facilities and offices are coming up rapidly across the country. Ms Qureshi said that none of the company's employees are on contract and they are hired as perm anent workers.

G4S is also planning to roll out more services in India such as 'Asset Management and Tracking system' for large fleet operations and 'Cash 360' services for the retail sector. Under Cash 360 services, it is finalising deals to provide a pilferage-proof security system to retail majors like Reliance Retail, Future Group, Pantaloon and Bharti Wal-Mart.

Ms Qureshi said lot of cash transaction takes place in modern retail and it needs to be transferred to either banks or a central location. - PTI
