Ford names Tata Motors as preferred bidder for Jaguar, Land Rover

LONDON: Tata Motors was named the preferred bidder for Ford's British marquees Jaguar and Land Rover on Thursday, but a final decision for the sale was yet to be taken.

"Ford is committed to focused negotiations at a more detailed level with Tata Motors concerning the potential sale of the combined Jaguar, Land Rover business,'' Premier Automotive Group and Ford of Europe, Ford Motor Company Executive Vice-President Lew is Booth said.

He said detailed discussions would be held with Tata Motors over the coming weeks. - PTI
