Price cut hurts Hindustan Zinc

MUMBAI: Hindustan Zinc was off 2.4 per cent to Rs 653 with modest volumes on word that it has cut zinc prices by 8.3 per cent and lead prices by 4.3 per cent. "Zinc prices have corrected by more than 27 per cent on the LME this year and that has been ref lected in the stock price. The demand-supply scenario in China, which turned an exporter in December, will influence the prices in the medium term, said a trader.
