Banks fall as investors turn cautious

MUMBAI: Bank stocks were down in negative broad markets on profit booking after recent gains and investors turning cautious ahead of Reserve Bank of India half-yearly credit policy review at the end of the month. The BSE Bankex was down 0.4% at 9532.44.

The stocks are likely to take next trigger from HDFC Bank 2Q results due later today, traders said. ICICI Bank was off 1.2% at Rs 1077.10, SBI moved down 0.2% at Rs 1940.85 and HDFC Bank was off 1.5% at 1435.
