Markets FIIs sell equities worth Rs 1,027 crore MUMBAI: Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) on Monday sold equities worth Rs 1,027.30 crore, amid the barometer Sensex losing 191 points yesterday. The FIIs invested in shares worth Rs 1,683.23 crore and offloaded stocks valued Rs 2,710.53 crore, resulting in a net sales of Rs 1,027.30 crore, as per provisional data available on the BSE. According to information available on Sebi website, FIIs offloaded equities worth Rs 1,178 crore on Friday. However, domestic institutional investors purchased stocks valued Rs 916.18 crore on the bourses. Among other categories, brokers invested Rs 55.29 crore in equities on behalf of their clients and retail investors. Meanwhile, non-resident Indian entities and proprietors purchased shares valued Rs 0.85 crore and 3.04 crore respectively. The Sensex settled at 8,509.56 points, down 191.51 points or 2.20 per cent. – PTI
